Started: Flying Helis, took up aircraft to
save frustration in Nov 1999. Began with Goldberg J3 Piper Cub, continue
to build and fly Piper Cubs in the 1/5 to 1/4 scale.
Current project: Just completed SIG
1/4 scale clipped wing J3 Piper Cub, powered by Laser 150.
Flying skills: Beginner, recently turned to
ARF kits to improve stick time and moved to high performance CAPS up to 1/4
scale to learn about aeros.
Ambition: (1) To build
and fly a scale Proctor DVa Albatros (W W I ). (2) To fly Vario
"Extreme" heli without buddy lead.(3) To become experienced enough
to reduce flying costs to cents per hour, rather than $ per hour,
Real Airplanes: Holder
of Private Pilot Licence, Constant Speed Retract U/C, and Night VFR,
(Favourite Aircraft, Cessna 210 Centurion.)
Doug has now moved South.
