The club has a good following in the helicopter section with a number of active heli pilots.  Most Heli pilots in the Club are also fixed wing pilots.  Various makes of helicopter are flown including Vario, JR Ergo, Excel, Hirobo, LME, Kyosho, Thunder Tiger (Raptor), TSK.

Shaun Carroll heli   Latest electric heli ZAP 400 standard was chosen by Shaun Carroll to make a return to heli flying.  Radio is a JRx388 and a JR490T gyro. Shaun also started flying heli's with a Schluter Heli Baby in the 70's.

Kobold on Floats Graham Taylor's Vario Kobold on floats at The Tripp Road site.  Heli flys well on inflatable floats.  Click here for a video clip.  
Jet Ranger Graham Taylor's Vario Jet Ranger. This scale model was purchased from Roman Lorenz who flew the model extensively in his home country (Germany) before his arrival in Darwin.

 

Vario Evolution Graham Taylor hovers his Vario " Evolution S ".  This intermediate stage helicopter is a delight to fly and is capable of most aerobatic manoeuvres. 
Bob Finlayson Ergo  Veteran flyer Bob Finlayson with his " ERGO 46 ".  Bob started flying heli's before the advent of gyro's and computer radios.  Model sold Sept.2001 Bob Finlayson
Bob Hyperfly  Bob Finlayson with a " Hyperfly " electric Heli.  This model performs well in light conditions, and can be flown like a fixed wing aero plane.
Bob  Piccolo  Bob Finlayson holds a " Piccolo " electric heli on his hand. These models are intended to be flown indoors but Bob picks calm days and flies it outdoors at East Point field.
